Your notes, planning board and draft stay quietly in sync, so the world you build is always right there beside the page.
The plan comes later. If at all.
Your notes, scenes and timeline stay quietly connected, so nothing gets lost between sessions.
Backstory, world and premise. All of it first.
Build characters, map relationships, chart your locations. Your whole world, right beside the page.
The outline is half the work.
Lay out every scene on the planning board, then draft with your structure already in place.
Already mid-draft? Upload your manuscript and pick up where you left off.
Most writing tools stop at the draft. Share yours with a simple link, and your readers leave notes chapter by chapter, all gathered in one place instead of scattered across email.
Your whole book, a few chapters, or a fixed version.
Readers open a calm, distraction-free reading view, with no sign-up needed on their end.
I built Draftory Studio because finishing a novel is hard enough without fighting your writing tool. I wanted somewhere calm to write, plan, and get honest feedback from readers who actually like your genre. It is early days, and you are among the first writers here, so what you tell me genuinely shapes what gets built next. If you are working on something, I would love for it to live here.
The platform offers a clear, organised space for managing manuscripts, character notes, plot threads, and timelines. Most writers end up with notes scattered across half a dozen applications, documents named things like "final_REAL_v3," and feedback buried in email threads from six months ago. It gives the project a home.
For writers who want a free home for all their books.

Muse is free forever, no credit card required. It gives you the full editor with unlimited manuscripts and chapters, plus characters, locations, timeline, summary and style tools, and Word, PDF and EPUB export. Muse+ (€4.99/month or €49/year) adds the planning and plotting layer. Bard and Oracle add AI on top. You can also explore the app without signing up using the demo on this page.
The full writing editor with unlimited chapters and scene breaks, character profiles and relationship map, locations, timeline, story summary, style guide and style detection, writing insights (most-used words, filler words, chapter pacing), and Word, PDF and EPUB export, across unlimited manuscripts. Muse is free forever.
Muse+ is the planning and plotting layer: the planning board with visual story map, Story Bible, plot threads and storylines, series and collections, and daily word goals with streak tracking, plus writing sprints, read-aloud, and an optional weekly progress email. It is €4.99/month or €49/year, with no AI, the AI tools live in Bard and Oracle.
Bard includes everything in Muse+, plus on-demand AI tools: AI manuscript analysis (review and populate your characters, locations, timeline, plot threads, storylines, chapter summaries, story summary and style notes directly from your text), AI spell check, word repetition flagging, and plot thread and storyline analysis. Whether the AI surfaces issues or confirms your story holds together, you decide what to keep. All AI features are triggered manually.
Oracle adds an AI writing coach with on-demand feedback on top of everything in Bard. The coach has eight tools: Character name check (flags inconsistent name spelling), Dialogue improvement, Pacing & rhythm, Show-don’t-tell, Sensory details, POV consistency, Style improvement (concrete suggestions for sentence variety, word choice, rhythm, clarity, and voice), and Are you stuck? (continuation prompts when you can’t move a scene forward). All eight are on-demand: you trigger them when you want them.
Draftory Studio reads your manuscript and can fill in any of your story notes from the text: characters (roles, descriptions and relationships), locations, timeline events, plot threads, storylines, chapter summaries, an overall story summary (premise, conflict and themes), and style notes. You choose the scope each time, whether the full manuscript, the current chapter, or just a selection. Results are added to the relevant panel for you to review and edit, and nothing is saved without your confirmation.
The app interface is in English. You can set your manuscript language to any of 74 languages from the card menu on the dashboard, or from the ⚙️ Settings button in the editor. Two features use that language:
Writing insights filters common and filler words in 14 languages: English, Estonian, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Russian, Polish, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish and Turkish, with adverb detection for English and the Romance languages. Other languages get raw word counts.
AI features are fully supported in 18 languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Korean, Estonian, Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch, Polish and Turkish. For other languages the AI will still try to help, but quality may vary. Free style detection (weak verbs, clichés, passive voice) works on English manuscripts only.
